How to determine the heat load of your equipment:
max BTU/hr = 3.412 * (max Watts/hr)
max Watts/hr = Volts * max amperage
Thus:
max BTU/hr = 3.412 * Volts * max amperage

So the other day I was working on a pc that was actually still using a dial-up line! Way too slow to download Windows Updates this way. What did I do? I noted all the updates that were necessary by selecting “custom” at update.microsoft.com and then went back to my own office and visited http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog where I downloaded all the updates manually, burned them to a thumbdrive, then went back to the pc that still operates in the dark ages.

How To use the Windows Update Catalog

Access the Windows Update Catalog at the address noted above |

Click Find Microsoft Windows Updates |
| 3. |
Select the appropriate product family and click Search, then select the Category |
| 4. |
Select the category of OS for which you’re downloading |
| 5. |
Locate the driver that you want, and then click Add for each item (be careful to select the correct Language-specific versions!) |

Repeat steps 2 through 5 to find and add more updates to your download basket |

Click Go to download basket |

In the Type or browse to the download location of your choice box, either type the full path for the folder where you want to save the update or click Browse to locate the folder |

All the items that you selected are downloaded, and then your download history appears.
